Below, you’ll learn the answers to two of the most frequently asked questions we get: should you cover a motorcycle before storing it, and where’s the best place to store it? We hope this helps you keep your bike safe while you’re not riding it.
Should I Cover My Motorcycle Before Storing It?
Yes, it’s a good idea to cover your bicycle. If you’re storing your bike inside, a cover will be able to protect it from dust, pests, and anything that might accidentally blemish your bike’s exterior. If you’re storing the bike inside, a cover will protect the motorcycle from the elements. This includes sunshine, rain, and other inclement weather conditions.
Where Do You Store Your Motorcycle?
There are a few different places you can store your motorcycle. If you’re using it regularly, it makes sense to keep it in your garage since this allows for ease of access. However, a bike can take up a lot of space, so people turn to storage units.
There are two kinds of units you can keep your bike in an indoor storage unit and an outdoor storage unit. An indoor team can help protect your bike from the elements, but typically it’s more expensive than an outdoor unit. Your bike should be protected from the sun in an outdoor unit as long as you cover it.
If you’d like to store your motorcycle, but you don’t have room in your garage, you may also choose to build a designated motorcycle shed. While this is an excellent option, it may not be practical depending on where you live.
