1. How much does your storage cost?
The cost of the storage depends on the amount of space you need. Our prices start as little as $25 a month for a small unit and go up in size and price from there. Our objective is to assess your needs, and then provide you with the right amount of space.
2. What size units do you have?
We have over 100 different size units ranging from a 4 x 4 x 4 (Length / width / height) up to a 10 x 20 x 12. We also have specialty units with shelves for storing file boxes. Tell us what you have to store and we’ll help you with the size!
3. What is required in order to rent a unit and sign up?
We ask you to please provide us with two different addresses in the United States (one is only for emergencies), a copy of your license or photo ID, and a telephone number to reach you with. The Downtown Miami – Brickell location also requires a current Visa or Mastercard in your name. All facilities will need to have you sign the contract and pay prior to move-in.
4. Do you rent moving trucks?
No we do not rent trucks or provide logistical services. However, over the years we have become acquainted with a few excellent moving companies and would be happy to put you in touch with them.
5. Do you offer vehicle or motorcycle storage?
The Plantation location is the only facility has vehicle storage capabilities. Please call them directly at (954) 452-9600. The other facilities do not offer any vehicle storage.
6. Can you help me move my stuff once I arrive at the facility?
Unfortunately, we will not help you move your belongings. It is very important that you bring help with you if you need assistance.
7. Is your storage air-conditioned?
With the exception of the loading docks and the elevators, the buildings are completely air-conditioned. All storage units are in an air-conditioned section of the building. In addition, Plantation Xtra Storage offers the option of non-air-conditioned storage accessible by drive-up. Contact us, if you need non-air conditioned or air conditioned storage in Miami.
8. If I do not need as much space as I thought, or I need more space what do I do?
Not to worry, you can always transfer to a larger or smaller unit. Any money you have in the account will transfer with you.
9. Do you insure my belongings?
We do not provide insurance for anything in your unit. You are responsible to carry your own insurance. You should check with your homeowner’s/renter’s insurance to fully understand your coverage. We can also provide you with literature from a company that offers storage insurance.
10. What form of security do you have?
First and foremost our facilities are only open during our specified hours of operation (please check each location for details), where we always have employees on site. At most facilities a personal identification code is needed to enter into any given section of the building. In addition, we have state-of-the-art video cameras and equipment. Finally, the facilities all have alarm systems, and every unit must be locked with your personal lock.
11. How can I pay?
You can pay via credit card (Visa or Mastercard), cash, check, or money order. Many of our customers prefer to set up an automatic check payment through their personal bank.
